Claudio Alario’s winery is one of the most interesting wineries in the province of Cuneo. This is a small family-run winery founded in 1900 in Diano d'Alba, a rural village located on green hills. The Alario family has been caring for and cultivating vines for three generations: today it is managed by Claudio Alario and his son Matteo.
The vineyards of the winery of Claudio Alario, located in the municipalities of Diano d'Alba, Serralunga d'Alba and Verduno, have an age that varies between 20 and 50 years and all enjoy privileged exposure. The vines, mainly raised in guyot on clay and limestone soils, give rise to a production of over forty thousand bottles. Since 2015 Claudio and Matteo have also decided to give up synthetic products and weeding and to favor low yields in the vineyard, in order to guarantee quality and genuineness to their wines.
The philosophy of the Alario family is aimed at seeking continuous and constant improvement. Curiosity, the desire to innovate and the link with tradition are characteristics that we find in wines and that, together with the peculiarities of a unique territory, make them excellent workhorses. Only red wines and only classic wines from Langhe, consistent and energetic: from the traditional and fresh Dolcetto to the sustained and important Barolo, passing through excellent expressions of Barbera and Nebbiolo. These are wines capable of surprising and always giving great satisfaction.
