Vignoble Des 2 Lunes

The Domaine Vignoble des 2 Lunes is located in Alsace, specifically in the commune of Wettolsheim, where the Buecher family has been dedicated to genuine and sincere production for seven generations. Since 2009, the winery has been led by sisters Amélie and Cécile Buecher, the first female producers in the family, skillfully bringing their modern vision while remaining true to the established family tradition. The foundation of the Buecher's production philosophy is to work in harmony with nature, respecting the environment and preserving the land for future generations.

The Vignoble des 2 Lunes estate cultivates approximately 15 hectares of vineyards, spread across different villages and dedicated to traditional Alsatian varieties, namely Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Noir. The agricultural management is based on the principles of biodynamic farming, with Demeter certification obtained in 2007. Already in 1997, Amélie and Cécile's parents had abandoned the use of synthetic chemicals. Today, the Domaine produces its own compost for the vineyards, which are worked with the help of horses and also cared for using homeopathic methods, all following the lunar calendar. From an oenological perspective, fermentations occur spontaneously in stainless steel tanks, while maturations can take place in oak barrels or stainless steel on fine lees, always following a minimalist and non-invasive approach. For the production of sparkling wines, the esteemed Methode Champenoise is used, which involves secondary fermentation directly in the bottle with extended aging on the lees.

Thanks to the variety of soils, microclimates, and exposures available, the Vignoble des 2 Lunes winery produces different styles of wines, all characterized by a vibrant character. In addition to still wines, represented by prestigious Grand Crus such as ‘Hengst’, Amélie and Cécile place great emphasis on their Crémant d’Alsace, delightful sparkling wines inspired by the great Champagnes of small vignerons, bottled with very low dosages to enhance their expressive purity.
