The Dolcetto "Costa Fiore" is a fresh, light red wine aged in steel. The nose offers notes of ripe fruit, accompanied by spicy sensations and exotic nuances. In the mouth it is clean, compact, consistent with the nose and with well-present tannins.
The Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba "Sorì Costa Fiore" by Claudio Alario was born in Diano d'Alba in the heart of the Piedmontese Langhe, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to red wines of excellent quality. The winery is family run and was founded at the beginning of the last century. For three generations the passion and the art of winemaking have been handed down, so that the refinement of the products survived over time. In 1988 Claudio learned the basics at the Istituto Superiore di Agraria and decided to experiment with new vinification and bottling techniques. The daily goal is that quality is always improved and perfected respecting nature and the ecosystem surrounding the vineyards.
The Dolcetto grapes in purity of Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba "Sorì Costa Fiore" by Claudio Alario grow in the territory of Diano d'Alba; the plants are between 20 and 50 years old and all have southern exposure, ideal condition to ensure optimal maturation of the bunches. The climate is characterized by hot and sultry summers and cold winters, often affected by snowy phenomena and frosts in early spring. The soils are mostly made of clay and limestone for structured wines with a strong character. The harvest is manual and begins around mid-September. In the cellar the alcoholic fermentation is in steel, where it also ages for one year; no filtration is applied at the time of bottling.
Claudio Alario’s Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba "Sorì Costa Fiore" is presented in the glass of an intense ruby red with violet reflections. The bouquet is broad, full and intense, reminiscent of ripe red fruits and notes of exotic fruits such as mango and papaya; the palate is soft, elegant and satisfying with tannins properly integrated into the overall structure. It goes perfectly with traditional Piedmontese dishes such as ravioli stuffed with meat, cuts of red meat cooked on the grill and local game. Ideal to be consumed on the occasion of romantic evenings in front of a fireplace access during snowy evenings, to taste the passion and history of Piedmontese viticulture, tasting authentic flavors.
