"Tor di Lupo" Riserva by Cantina Andriano is an intense and complex Lagrein that comes from sandy and clay soils located at 300 metres of altitude of the Val d'Adige. Vinified in steel tanks, it ages in barrique for 12 months and is enriched with evolved and ripe olfactory scents of red fruits in alcohol, balsamic tones of resin and dark chocolate. The first sip is fresh followed by alcoholic sensations. dense tannins and long persistence
The Lagrein Riserva "Tor di Lupo" is a red wine that does not struggle to make its mark. This is due to its own character, which is evident on the palate with a clear-cut mouthfeel where freshness and tannicity are in harmony, while the nose is dominated by hints of well-ripened fruit. The Kellerei Cantina Andriano, the oldest winery in Alto Adige, founded in 1893, confirms that it knows the terroir perfectly, cultivating Lagrein vines in the most suitable plots, ideal for producing a high quality product.
Tor di Lupo' is a Lagrein Reserve with structure and territorial expressiveness. The vines of this variety grow in vineyards at around 300 metres above sea level, sinking their roots into a terroir consisting mainly of sand and clay. During the harvest, the bunches are carefully selected and after destemming, the grapes are pressed, giving rise to a must that ferments in stainless steel containers, where pumping over is frequent. This is followed by ageing, in which the wine rests for 12 months in barriques, until bottling operations begin.
This Lagrein Riserva "Tor di Lupo" announces itself to the eye with a typically ruby colour, crossed by veins more towards purple in the rim. On the nose, one perceives distinct notes of very ripe red fruit, enhanced by touches of spice and resin, the prelude to an olfactory finish from which a nuance of bitter chocolate also emerges. In the mouth, it is full-bodied, and immediately announces itself with a pleasant freshness, with a tannic mouthfeel that continues on a finish with excellent persistence. A bottle with which Andriano achieves excellent scores in the major Italian and international wine guides, confirming the value of its labels.
