The Fumin from Les Cretes winery is one of the most representative wines of the Aosta Valley: delicate, elegant, fresh and fruity, aged for 12 months in French barriques. It has aromas of blueberries, underbrush, small red fruits that are clearly expressed in a full, soft and harmonious sip
The Fumin by Les Cretes is one of those red wine that we like to remember seeing that in the 1970 had even risked extinction. And was just Les Cretes, in 1993, to make for the first time a Fumin in purity, contributing significantly to the revitalization of this variety from Val d’Aosta; a raise, a courageous choice that were followed by an almost immediate success. Les Cretes is a landmark in the wine in the Valle d'Aosta, one of those cellar that have been able to transfer to better the peculiarities of the local terroir in the wines. And the Fumin it’s a typical example: the risk of extinction to being, today, in a phase of recovery in production is really important. The Fumin by Les Cretes is an important wine, from an impenetrable color and a good longevity. Born on the beautiful vineyards of La Tour and Les Cretes Aymavilles, on vines of 15 years old and on a ground moraine, sandy, with steep slopes, with exposure to the North-West and South, at an altitude of 650 meters above sea level. Here, the temperature differences between day and night are the master and develop the aromas and the freshness that we find in the glass, after the Fumin has been aged for a year in small French oak barrels. A Fumin that offers some nice notes of undergrowth, with blackberry and blueberry, accompanied by spices, from leather and vegetal scents. Warm, full, round and characterized by soft tannins. The Fumin by Les Cretes is one of those wines that are worth discovering and tasting; an importantly red wine from Valle d’Aosta, able to thrill to the story that can be told.
