The farm Piaggia has been established in the mid-70s by Mauro Vannucci, who believed he could produce a great Carmignano on a clay, cool and dry soil in few hectares located in the town of Poggio Caiano. Today Piaggia is managed by his daughter Silvia, who is animated by the same irrepressible and prolific father's passion.
In the last years, the constant quality of the wines has attracted many awards and praise that have marked the entrance of the winery in the elite of the best ones in Italy. The current extension of the company includes 25 hectares of land, 15 of them are vineyards. As gardens, the vineyards in perfect order and with rare beauty, being considered one of the largest exhibitions of Carmignano, about even a territory particularly suited: soils rich in limestone allow rapid vegetative growth and influence Apennine determines good temperature, especially in summer. The winery is modern and fully equipped: here the production of red wines takes place through an extraordinary process, from vinification to the meticulous choice of wood, always points to excellence and uncompromising.
Inextricably linked to the affirmation of the Carmignano wine, Piaggia is an important reference for the wine of the area thanks to wine making school for their timeless elegance and for the interesting complexity of taste and smell. This winery’s experience teaches that the best wine can arise only from the order, beauty and competence, essential values expressed from the growing grapes to the bottling. Each label is the wonderful result of these values and hard work, joyful expression of a constant passion that underlies amazing and spectacular wines.
