The "Trenzado" of the Suertes del Marques winery is a white wine from the Canary Islands made from Palomino, Pedro Ximenez and other indigenous varieties. After manual harvesting, the grapes are fermented with indigenous yeasts in cement tanks and old barriques, where the wine is then left to age for 9 months. "Trenzado" by Suertes Del Marques is a wine originating in the Canary Islands, specifically the Island of Tenerife in Valle de la Orotava. The winery's work philosophy is characterized by an unwavering commitment to respecting the ecosystem that surrounds the vineyards, seeking to limit human intervention in favor of winemaking that is as similar as possible to the traditional winemaking handed down from generation to generation. The business has been family-run for 20 years with the goal of producing high quality wines. The name of the wine "Trenzado" means interwoven and comes from the traditional "Braided Cord" method of cultivation precisely with crossed rows.
The Listan Bianco and Torronté Vulcanico grapes and other native "Trenzado" grapes from Suertes Del Marques that make up the wine blend come from vineyards ranging from 10 to 150 years old at an elevation of about 400 meters above sea level. The area dedicated to growing vines is about 11 hectares in the westernmost part of the Orotava Valley. The climate is exceptionally mild with peaks of summer heat due to warm Saharan wind currents; in winter temperatures never fall below 10 degrees, ensuring good health for the plants; the roots rest on soils composed mainly of red and ochre minerals that give full-bodied structure to the wines. The harvest is carried out between mid-September and October; an alcoholic fermentation and a short malolactic fermentation is carried out in the cellar and then the wine is aged in wood for 9 months.
"Trenzado" by Suertes Del Marques appears straw yellow with bright highlights to the eye. The aromas are reminiscent of citrus notes with floral hints and smoky notes on the finish; on the palate it reveals a harmonious and fresh structure with a pleasant savoriness on the finish. It pairs perfectly with grilled fish dishes, shellfish and crustaceans; also well paired with stewed white meats. Perfect product for fish barbecues by the sea with lifelong friends or for aperitifs and special occasions, sharing a special product resulting from the reinterpretation of a distant tradition.
