Forlini Cappellini's Sciacchetà is a Passito Ligurian wine of great charm, born from white vines grown on terraces sloping down to the sea and aged for 36 months in small barrels. It is soft, intense and enveloping, with intense and overwhelming notes of dried fruits, flowers and apricots.
The Sciacchetrà Riserva from the historic Cinque Terre winery of Forlini and Cappellini. The couple voluntarily decided to offer this unique and unrepeatable sweet fortified raisin wine as a Riserva so that the organoleptic qualities of the wine could be refined to the best of their ability to show themselves, when tasted, in a sublime way.
When one speaks of Cinque Terre in the viticultural sphere, one refers to one of the most challenging pieces of land to cultivate and where man's hand must be skilful but also tenacious since immense efforts are required to be able to harvest the fruit. The vines from which Sciacchetrà is made are not aromatic; Bosco is used in the majority, followed by small percentages of Vermentino and Albarola, carefully and confidentially raised on steep terraces located 100 to 350 meters above sea level. In the winery, the grapes are laid down in special well-ventilated rooms where they undergo raisining. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel, where the wine ages for a total of 12 months. Ageing takes place in small oak barrels for a period of 36 months.
Sciacchetrà Riserva is a beautiful amber-yellow colour with intense golden hues. The nose has delicate hints of apricot against a floral background of fragrant notes reminiscent of dried fruits, dates and almonds. The palate is intense, broad and dense. Excellent volume is noticeable on the sip, with peppery and saline hints and a very long finish. Brilliant and bright. A marine wonder!
