The Schioppettino from La Tunella winery is a full-bodied, intense red wine with fruity, balsamic tones. The nose expresses woody, spicy and black fruit scents. On the palate it is firm, soft and balanced. It is aged for 24 months in oak barrels.
Schioppettino is one of the varieties of certain indigenous origin of the eastern hills of Friuli. This interpretation which provides La Tunella proves all the attention that the company has attracted to itself in recent years: a wine with elegant and determined hints and with full and wrap character. Again La Tunella, of Zorzetting’s family, shows a really good company, capable of twenty-five years of life to carve out a place in the foreground in the crowded landscape of the eastern hills of Friuli. This special place is accrued due to a long wine tradition: founded as a manufacturer of bulk wine with his grandfather Min, has undergone the transformation actually bottling his father Livio and the final launch in domestic and international markets by the young Marco and Massimo. Today the vineyards of the winery is located in Ipplis, just below the historic Rocca Bernarda, and can boast very suited positions in one of the most traditional local wine area. They are all ordered vineyards, with exhibitions and enviable roots firmly sunk in ponca, a mixture of sandstone and marl, which guarantees health, good supply of water and resulting quality of the grapes. The influence of this unique terroir to the ripeness of the grapes is also seen in this Schioppettino, able to fascinate for its perfect balance between spicy and overall smoothness.
