Sangiovese di Romagna "Campo di Mezzo," produced by Tre Monti winery, is a young and fragrant version of Sangiovese. It is a red that well represents the ancient tradition of the Romagna region in making fresh, fruity wines. Joyful and convivial, it is distinguished by a flowing sip and rich, ripe fruit. The characteristic notes of cherry and red fruit are month highlighted by gentle vinification and brief ageing in steel, which preserves the varietal character of the grapes.

"Campo di Mezzo" is a Sangiovese di Romagna made by Tre Monti, one of the most representative wineries in the panorama of Romagna viticulture. The estate is divided into several estates, all of which are managed under organic farming with the utmost respect for the environment. The Sangiovese grapes come from Vigna delle Quercia, a plot located on the first hills that rise from Imola toward the Apennine ridge at an altitude of about 150 meters above sea level. The soils are of medium texture, silty matrix with the presence of clays and sands. The grapes are harvested towards the end of September, and the best bunches are sent to fermentation in steel vats and vitrified stainless steel cement tanks at a controlled temperature of 28-30 °C, with a maceration period on the skins of a dozen days. Before bottling, the wine matures for several months in steel tanks.

To the eye, it has a clear and bright ruby red colour. The nose reveals an intense bouquet characterized by an exuberant fruity fragrance, with scents of ripe cherries, small red berries, morello cherries, soft hints of black cherry, floral nuances of violet and delicate spicy sensations. The palate is medium-bodied, with fine tannins and juicy, satisfying fruit. The finish is fresh and with good flavour persistence.
