Paolo Saracco's Moscato d'Asti is a sweet, aromatic, fresh and lightly sparkling wine that expresses a delicate and harmonious symphony of floral scents and fruity aromas, sweet and seductive. Moscato Bianco is an ancient and extraordinary grape variety, widespread since ancient times in many Mediterranean countries, thanks to Greek colonisation. In the Asti area, it has found the right soils and climate to produce wines that today are among the Region's finest.
The sweet Moscato d'Asti wine is produced by Paolo Saracco's winery in the estate's vineyards, which are located in the best areas of Castiglione Tinella, Santo Stefano Belbo, Castagnole Lanze and Calosso, all at fairly high altitudes and on valuable soils of sand, limestone and silt. The vines of Moscato Bianco di Canelli come from a mass selection of the best plants chosen over the years and which today represent a heritage of biodiversity and quality of inestimable value. At the end of the harvest, a soft pressing is carried out to extract only the aromatic flower must, which is kept in steel tanks at a temperature of -2 °C. After fermentation at a controlled temperature, when the wine reaches a low alcoholic strength, it is microfiltered and bottled, so as to preserve all its characteristic aromatic fragrance.
Moscato d'Asti is a dessert wine of refined elegance, preserving the varietal bouquet of the grape with delicate floral notes and intense fruity aromas. Soft and enveloping, it is ideal to be enjoyed with leavened desserts, especially Panettone and Pandoro. The colour is pale straw yellow. The nose opens with scents of orange blossom and white flowers, citrus aromas, white peach and officinal herbs. The sip is lively and seductive for the intense aromaticity of the fruit, dense and juicy, but always sustained by a pleasant freshness.
