The first Moscato wine bottled by Paolo Saracco dates back to 1988, but the history of this winery is much older. It all began with the initiative of Paolo's great-grandfather, who at the beginning of the century bought a farmstead in the village of Castiglione Tinella from a farmer and began producing Moscato and selling it as a base for Vermouth. This activity was then continued by Paolo's father, who joined the company in 1984 and decided to market his wines, focusing on quality.
From the 1980s until today, harvest after harvest, Paolo Saracco has made a name for himself as a producer of high quality Moscato: his wine expresses the best characteristics of its terroir. His vineyards extend over an area of three kilometres and are obtained by mass selection of very old plants.
Every year Paolo buys new land and vineyards with the best and most diverse exposures, in order to exploit grapes of the highest quality. In these areas the soil is composed of sand, limestone and silt; conditions which, together with the rather high altitude, allow the Moscato to develop its aromatic component to the maximum. Its Moscato d'Autunno is impressive, capable of expressing a unique, rich and complex aromaticity. In short, a winery that has made and is making the history of Moscato wine both in Italy and worldwide.
