'Maboi' is a Spanish red wine with a fresh and gentle profile made with Giró grapes, a native variety of Marina Alta, coming from a small piece of land located at 630 meters above sea level and only a few km from the sea. Vinified and aged in steel, it gives a very characteristic bouquet of flowers, red fruits, leather and undergrowth. On the palate it is smooth and agile, but also broad and complex, with a long persistent freshness
Aida I Luis Vinyaters' 'Maboi' was born within a young project developed in 2018 by two winemakers who had the desire to produce quality artisanal wines that could have authentic flavours and aromas. The vines are grown between Valencia and Murcia, a beautiful part of the hinterland close to the Mediterranean coast. They cultivate native vines that can adapt wonderfully to the microclimates of this land, expressing all their inherent potential.
The vines of the 'Maboi' of Aida I Luis Vinyaters grow on soils composed of sand and silt, often affected by drought and little irrigation, so the roots of the vines have to penetrate very deep to search for water underground. With the influence of sea breezes, the Mediterranean climate makes the rows dry and mitigates temperatures to prevent them from being too hot in summer and too cold in winter. The harvest is conducted manually, and fermentation of the whole bunches is spontaneous with indigenous yeasts with very little final deposit in small steel tanks; it matures 8 months in steel tanks and is bottled without filtering or clarification.
The 'Maboi' of Aida I Luis Vinyaters presents itself in the glass as a ruby red with deep reflections. On the nose, it releases aromas of wild berries, red flowers, wet earth and leather; on the palate, it is slender, delicate and enveloping with good freshness and complexity that gives persistence and an interesting drinkability. Excellent with cured meats, grilled and stewed red meat and first courses with important sauces. To be shared at summer barbecues in country locations with friends for carefree days or with the family to celebrate special occasions, sipping a wine that is an ambassador of its land and the beauty it holds.
