LAGREIN 'RUBENO' ANDRIANO 2023 DESCRIPTION

The "Rubeno" Lagrein is one of the various expressions with which the Andriano winery delights in presenting this important indigenous South Tyrolean grape variety, giving us a version with a young profile. In fact, the aromas on the nose are not too pronounced, and move gently between fruity and floral notes, acting as a prelude to a flowing sip, where the tannin is indeed present, but in a docile version that is never too evident. A bottle that, at table, pairs well with earthy menus, as it can be enjoyed both at aperitif time, with a nice board of cured meats, and throughout the meal, with fresh pasta stuffed with meat and grilled meat main courses.

The 'Rubeno' wine is a Lagrein made from the grapes of the same name, cultivated by the Kellerie Andriano team in vineyards with a subsoil characterised mainly by sand and porphyry. After harvesting, the grapes are taken to the winemaking facility, where they are de-stemmed; after pressing, the must ferments in stainless steel containers, with frequent pumping over. This is followed by the ageing phase, in which the wine is left to rest for 6 months in large wooden barrels, until bottling operations begin.

Lagrein 'Rubeno' presents itself to the eye with a colour reminiscent of ruby red. The range of aromas that spreads on the nose announces fruity notes, enriched by sensations reminiscent of flowers, in particular violet petals. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with a mouthfeel that develops in a fasciant manner on the palate thanks to a finely integrated tannic texture; it closes with a finish of good persistence. A bottle in which nothing is out of place, with which Andriano confirms its ability to portray the indigenous grape varieties of Alto Adige.
