La Grola is a hill on the summit of which, legend has it, the Corvina grape was born, which has always been the symbol of viticulture in the Valpolicella area. Allegrini, an iconic producer of wine from the Veneto region throughout the world, took this myth as its starting point to create La Grola, a blend of great elegance and harmony in which Corvina is joined by Oseleta, another local native grape; a great red wine in which the grapes are free to express themselves to the full, thanks in part to the organic farming practices used in the vineyards, and where drinkability, the winery's trademark, allows for impeccable, smooth sipping.
La Grola is a wine that the Allegrini winery makes from grapes grown on the Podere La Grola estate in Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella; it is a blend made from indigenous vines, where 10% Oseleta is added alongside Corvina. The vineyards are located approximately 310 metres above sea level, and are characterised by a skeleton-rich subsoil, where the vines, with an average age of around 30 years, sink their roots. After manual harvesting, the grapes are softly crushed, and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel for about 15 days; malolactic fermentation takes place in barriques, where the wine matures for 16 months before bottling.
La Grola di Allegrini is a red wine that presents itself in the glass with an intense ruby colour. The bouquet is very broad, structured around strong, enveloping notes, where red fruits and spices alternate with herbaceous and aromatic nuances. On the palate it is full-bodied, well-balanced, with a refreshing flavourful streak and finely integrated tannins. A label to choose to please the palates of all diners;
