Within the Grand Cru village of Ambonnay, in the heart of the Montagne de Reims area, comes Marie Ledru's Champagne Rosé Grand Cru, a precious and winking sparkling wine made by the "Lady of Pinot Noir." Artisanal winemaker Marie Ledru inherited the estate from her father in the 1980s and began taking direct care of every stage of the production process. In the vineyard, the utmost respect is shown for the ecosystem, which is why no synthetic chemicals are used, while in the cellar all sparkling wine making operations, from remuage to degorgement and final dosage, are carried out by hand directly by Marie.
Champagne Marie Ledru Rosé Grand Cru Champagne comes from a combination of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grown sustainably in Ambonnay. Fermentation takes place spontaneously thanks to the yeasts present on the berries and in the cellar environment, and after preparing the cuvée this is placed in the bottle for frothing in accordance with the Champenoise Method. Aging on the lees in the bottle continues for a few years and the wine is then subjected to manual Brut degorgement and dosage operations. After a few months of further rest, the sparkling wine is finally ready for release.
In the glass, Récoltant Manipulant Marie Ledru's Rosé Grand Cru Champagne reveals a deep pink hue with orange highlights, with very fine and lasting effervescence. Broad and seductive aromatic bouquet defined by delicate hints of strawberry, raspberry and flower petals that blend with refined mineral and bakery sensations. Soft, intense and highly persistent on the palate, enlivened by lively freshness and tasty savory stamp. This is a Champagne of extraordinary purity capable of fully expressing the robust yet elegant character of the Ambonnay terroir.
