The sip is intense, robust,m deep and mineral, with a very long progression
Caprili's Brunello di Montalcino is an elegant label of great harmony and expressive finesse. It represents a classic interpretation linked to the best Montalcino tradition. The stylistic consistency and the extraordinary constancy of the wine's level have made Caprili one of the landmarks of the area. The long ageing in large barrels allows the Sangiovese to mature slowly, softening the tannins and acquiring a remarkable complexity of taste. Intense and refined, it carries in the glass the typical varietal floral and fruity notes, enhanced by a wide range of tertiary aromas, which make the sip unforgettable.
Caprili winery's Brunello di Montalcino red wine originates on the southwest slope of Montalcino's famous hill, where the winery with the estate's 15 hectares is located. The vineyards are cultivated on the gentle, well-sunlit slope, characterized by stony soils rich in minerals. The climate is particularly mild and is affected by the beneficial influence of the gentle breaks of the Tyrrhenian Sea, which rise from the coast inland. Thanks to these special conditions, Sangiovese Grosso reaches full maturity with particularly rich aromas. Attention to the surrounding environment is gradually leading the winery toward choices directed toward organic and biodynamic farming to give the wines an even more authentic and typical character.
Caprili's Brunello di Montalcino wine comes from vineyards located near the winery, at an altitude of about 300 meters above sea level, with sunny exposures and always well ventilated. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel or cement containers in a spontaneous way, only with indigenous yeasts and with a maceration on the skins of about three weeks. The wine rests for a period of 36 months in Slavonian oak barrels and completes ageing in the bottle. In the glass, it has a garnet-red color with bright ruby highlights. The aromas recall floral hints, aromas of small red berries, cherry, morello cherry and hints of underbrush. The sip is well structured with a ripe tannic texture, well integrated with rich and expressive fruit. The finish is very persistent, with a fresh, mineral finish.
