The sip is intense and rich, with great aromatic persistence and a harmonious and delicate palate.
"San Lorenzo di Verduno" Barolo comes from a parcel located within the additional geographical mention of the same name in the municipality of Verduno. The vineyard has a wonderful southern exposure and is located at an altitude of about 250 meters above sea level. The vines are over 30 years old and give grapes of particular aromatic intensity. The soils consist mainly of limestone, with a good presence of silt. Manual harvesting is followed by spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in steel tanks at a temperature of 29-31 °C and an overall duration of maceration on the skins of about 20-25 days. The wine matures for 36 months in 20-30 hectoliter Slavonian oak barrels, rests for 2 months in steel and finishes the long ageing process with six months in a bottle before release for sale.
The "San Lorenzo di Verduno" is a Barolo expression of a single cru. A prestigious label which allows us to know the characteristics of the terroir and its peculiarities. In the glass, it has a beautiful garnet-red colour. The olfactory picture is rich and elegant with scents of violets, dried flowers, medicinal herbs, small berries, liquorice root and slightly toasted hints. The attack on the palate immediately denotes a good structure, a dense but evolved tannic texture, a beautiful complexity and aromatic depth, which accompanies the sip towards a harmonious, persistent finish with good freshness.
