BAROLO LORENZO ACCOMASSO 2015 DESCRIPTION

Barolo Lorenzo Accomasso is a label that represents a piece of Langhe wine history. As a true pioneer of the territory, Cavalier Lorenzo Accomasso produced the first bottle of Barolo in 1958 and since then his winery has been a solid point of reference for all enthusiasts. Since the 1970s, he has been working on low yields to obtain rich and concentrated grapes, capable of giving high quality wines. An uncompromising choice, which is also reflected in this label, characterised by a profile of great elegance and finesse, in line with the characteristics of the terroir of La Morra. A Barolo with a classic and traditional face, which will delight the most demanding connoisseurs. To be tasted on a special evening.

This great Barolo comes from a legendary estate in the production area. A wine that is a true ambassador of Piedmont in the world. Lorenzo Accomasso's wine cellar is located in the hamlet of Annunziata di La Morra and runs a small estate of only three hectares, tended with maniacal care. The splendid hilly area, with plenty of sunshine and a mild climate, is characterised by soils composed of calcareous clayey marls rich in sand, which allow the production of balanced grapes with extremely fine aromas. Barolo is made from the best bunches of grapes from vineyards about 50 years old, cultivated at an altitude of 500 metres above sea level. Fermentation takes place spontaneously, using only indigenous yeasts, and the wine matures for at least 24 months in old wooden barrels before finishing in the bottle.

Lorenzo Accomasso's red Barolo is a high-end bottle, reserved for connoisseurs, who want to treat themselves to the pleasure of tasting a great wine, which has now entered the elite of the denomination's most coveted labels. To the eye, it has a light garnet red colour. Elegant and refined, it expresses a bouquet characterised by aromas of small red berries, currants, raspberries, floral hints of violets, dried rose petals, nuances of medicinal herbs, liquorice root and balsamic touches. With a good structure, it is characterised by a fine and subtle tannic texture, perfectly integrated with a complex and harmonious aromatic array, which stretches towards a fresh, savoury and persistent finish.
