Founded in 2004 within the Veneto municipality of Grancona, in the Colli Berici area, Matteo Rigoni's winery represents a small artisanal reality guarding this green slice of land in the province of Vicenza. The estate is located in a house built in 1608 by the noble-born religious figure Giovanni Porto, which passed into the hands of Matteo's ancestors in the 1900s, a family of farmers and breeders who also engaged in viticulture. In 2004, Matteo planted his first vineyards, choosing to focus on international varieties, as in his view these grapevines leave more room for the expression of the terroir, while the first bottles were labeled in 2012.

Matteo Rigoni's estate vineyards are dedicated to international varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc, Manzoni Bianco, and Chardonnay. The vineyards, surrounded by hornbeam and oak forests, are cultivated following the principles of organic farming on limestone and iron-rich soils, at an altitude of 200 meters above sea level. The harvest is carried out by hand, and in the cellar, fermentations occur spontaneously in 750-liter clay amphorae, the same containers where the wines also undergo the subsequent maturation phase, sometimes accompanied by cement tanks and tonneaux. All winemaking operations are carried out manually, including racking, almost always done by gravity. The entire process does not involve the use of any additives and oenological aids, except for minimal doses of sulfur dioxide when necessary, and the use of clarification and filtration operations is also banned. Furthermore, in order to minimize environmental impact, the glass used in bottling is very lightweight.

The wines of winemaker Matteo Rigoni are born with the aim of enhancing the most genuine expression of the Colli Berici, without adhering to the homogenizations that the market often tries to impose, but rather, as Matteo himself states, letting "the land, the plants, and the care I put into it sing".
