Domaine Adrien Berlioz is a family-run winery that is a excellence in the artisanal wine context of Savoie, a small wine-growing region on the French Alpine side. Adrien set up his own business in 2006 after taking the reins of the family vineyards located around Chignin, the village that gives its name to the Chignin-Bergeron sub-zone and to the wine of the same name made exclusively from Roussanne grapes, one of the finest in the entire region. Adrien is also a cousin of another leading figure in the region's oenological scene: Gilles Berlioz, a veritable reference point for biodynamic viticulture in Savoy.

Adrien Berlioz cultivates just over 8 hectares, embracing from the outset a production philosophy that respects the environment and the identity of the terroir, culminating in the biodynamic certification obtained in 2020. The varieties grown are those of the Savoy tradition, namely Roussanne, locally known as Bergeron, Jacquère, Malvoisie, a local clone of Pinot Gris, and Altesse for the white grapes, and Mondeuse, Douce Noire and Persan among the black grapes. The vines are rooted on rocky soils of a clay-limestone matrix, often characterised by steep slopes, at an altitude of almost 400 metres above sea level. When the grapes have reached the right stage of ripeness, they are harvested by hand and in the cellar fermentation takes place entirely spontaneously thanks to the sole action of indigenous yeasts. Oak barrels are used for the ageing of the thicker wines, always with a judicious use of wood, while the more lively and immediate expressions mature in stainless steel tanks.

The wines of the Domaine Adrien Berlioz impress with their vibrant freshness and intriguing aromas, as well as their indissoluble mineral character, an authentic stylistic signature of the Savoie region of which Adrien is a faithful interpreter. In particular, the reds display a graceful and juicy flavour while the whites, the pride of the Domaine, are appreciated for their tension and completeness.
