Aberlour is located at the base of the mountain range of Ben Rinnes. Located in the village, the distillery was founded by Peter Weir and James Gordon in 1826. The village is located on 'plateau Lour, in a point of convergence with the River Spey, only 270 meters from the distillery. Introduced in 2008, this 18 years has become a top of the range of whiskeys, who won a gold medal at the International Wine & Spirit Competition. Great personality is fresh, juicy and elegant. The component is sherried those sugary and clean, except for a special and pleasant mineral note. Many different varieties of fruit are present on the nose and the taste: fresh as red apples, red fruits, strawberry as well as baked apples and plums, with a slight hint of cinnamon and apricot jam. With a couple of minutes evolves and you start to feel a round chocolate milk, a hot malt with hints of tamarind and cola. The palate is buttery with malt makes a comeback, along with intense sweet notes but "burned" as caramel, toffee, creme brulee. Can still be felt chocolate, canned peaches, dates. Shortly after beginning to be felt with the aging wood and licorice through hazelnut and walnut well defined. You average long and persistent. It's perfect, never boring, that's exactly what you would expect from a whiskey of this age and of this area.
