VERMOUTH ROSSO 'RÒS SANTÒN' BORGO SAN DANIELE DESCRIPTION

The Vermouth Rosso 'Ròs Santòn', produced by Borgo San Daniele, is an artisanal label made with special care and passion. It is a small production that complements the range of wines, with the desire to offer enthusiasts a version of Vermouth made with high-quality ingredients. The base is made from the precious red wine Pignolo, produced from the area's indigenous grape variety, the true jewel in the crown of the Friuli winery. Intense and rich, it owes its complexity and harmony to using a balanced blend of herbs and spices that give it a deep and pleasantly bitter taste.

Ròs Santòn" is a Vermouth Rosso that stems from the desire to enhance the strong personality of Pignolo wine and make it the star of a Vermouth as well. From the outset, the Borgo San Daniele winery has focused on cultivating the area's indigenous grapes, intending to produce both straightforward and genuine wines. The Vermouth faithfully follows the ancient recipe created by Antonio Benedetto Carpano in his Turin workshop in 1786. To give this traditional spiced wine a territorial character, base wines of old Pignolo di Borgo San Daniele vintages are used. The recipe calls for the use of 30 botanicals, including medicinal herbs and spices, which are processed through a classic process of infusion in wine so that all the precious aromatic substances can be extracted in an absolutely natural way

Borgo San Daniele's 'Ròs Santòn' spiced wine is a very intense and rich Vermouth Rosso that bases its success on the excellent quality of the Pignolo used as a base for the infusions. Its rich, fruity aromas and its remarkable structure and concentration blend wonderfully with the botanicals. To the eye, it has a dark garnet red colour with light orange highlights. The bouquet expresses aromas of sweet spices, officinal herbs, floral nuances, notes of bitter orange peel, and balsamic sensations on a pleasant vinous background characterised by rich berry aromas. The sip is rich, aromatically dense and deep, with a persistent and slightly bitter finish.
