The Vermentino di Sardegna 'Tziu Martine' from Berritta Dorgali winery is a fresh white wine produced in the province of Nuoro. With a distinct marine imprint, on the palate it gives a delicate, flowing and refreshing sip, sustained on the finish by a pleasant saline vein, which returns to the nose in the delicate marine hints that accompany aromas of yellow-fleshed fruit, lemon zest and slight herbaceous notes. A bright, summer wine to try with a mixed fish fry!
The Vermentino di Sardegna 'Tziu Martine' from the Berritta Dorgali winery is a label rich in citrusy, fruity and marine hints that recall the characteristics of the grape variety and its terroir. This label pays homage to Ziu Martine, one of the most evocative and fascinating beaches in the municipality of Dorgali, and in particular, the village of Cala Gonone, with its turquoise, crystal-clear sea. The illustration is the work of Dorgali artist Maurizio Brocca, who wanted to represent the characteristic pebbles and colours of the beach.
'Tziu Martine' Vermentino di Sardegna di Berritta Dorgali is a pure Vermentino from vines that are about 25 years old and organically certified. The vines are rooted on particularly draining soils derived from granite disintegration and located at an altitude of 120 metres above sea level. The manual harvesting of the grapes is followed by an overnight cooling of the bunches, which are destemmed and crushed the following morning. The must is then conveyed into stainless steel tanks for spontaneous alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature combined with approximately 48 hours of skin maceration. The subsequent maturation phase always takes place in stainless steel on the fine lees and continues for a few months until the wine is clarified and bottled.
To the eye, the 'Tziu Martine' Berritta Dorgali Vermentino di Sardegna displays a brilliant straw-yellow mantle with golden flashes. The aromatic bouquet is composed of aromas of yellow-fleshed fruit and lemon peel that blend with marine puffs and floral and herbal nuances. The palate displays marked freshness and excellent structure, as well as a smooth citrus and pleasantly saline finish.
