Macchion dei Lupi's Vermentino "Alos" is a fresh, pure and savory white wine that is macerated on the skins for two days and aged in concrete tanks. The nose offers suggestions of Mediterranean scrub, aromatic herbs, white pulp fruit and spicy memories. The sip is slender, savory and fresh, with a slight tannic sensation
The Vermentino "Alos" of Macchion dei Lupi is produced in Suvereto, in the province of Livorno in the beautiful region of Tuscany, vocated for the production of Vermentino, a grape which carries the authentic flavors of this land. In 2005, Carlo Parenti decided to leave his job in a bank to indulge his passion for the wine world, thanks in part to his meeting with winemaker Attilio Scienza; in every bottle you can sense the great work behind the scenes and feel the intense flavor of the Tuscan land.
The vineyards of Macchion dei Lupi's Vermentino "Alos" are cultivated according to the dictates of the organic regime, followed in time by the biodynamic one: the choice is to intervene as little as possible in the vineyard, choosing to use decoctions and infusions prepared with local wild herbs instead of synthetic chemicals. The soil is mainly stony, rich in minerals and of volcanic origin, a characteristic that results in wines with a strong character; important temperature ranges between day and night ensure excellent ripening of the grapes. After manual harvesting is completed, alcoholic fermentation occurs in steel with a maceration on the skins for 2 days. It ages 8 months in cement tanks.
The Vermentino "Alos" of Macchion dei Lupi has a golden yellow color with sparse particles in suspension; the nose releases aromas of Mediterranean herbs, citrus notes, peach and apple and on the finish mineral hints. In the mouth it is lively, fresh and mineral with savory hints on the finish for an interesting drink. It pairs perfectly with seafood and shellfish dishes, but also with vegetarian dishes and fresh cheeses. An excellent product to be consumed during romantic summer dinners by the sea to enjoy in the glass all the passion of those who daily strive to enhance the Tuscan land.
