The Verdicchio "Il Bacco" is a beautifully fresh, medium-bodied white wine aged for 12 months in steel. The broad bouquet gives fruity notes of pineapple, apple and pear. The taste is balanced and pleasantly savory, with a refreshing finish
Fattoria Coroncino's Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore 'Il Bacco' was born in Staffolo between the Musone and Esino valleys in the Marche region. Lucio Canestrari and his wife Fiorella founded the winery in 1981, starting with a small production and a few hectares of land. Their working philosophy immediately embraced the dictates of biodynamic agriculture, preferring grassing and no chemical fertilisation, in favour of respecting the natural growth and development phases of plants and raw materials. Today, the business has about 17 hectares of land entirely planted with vines, located in the best cru suited for the production of Verdicchio. The labels are special, colourful and expressive, whose designs recall the name of the wine.
The grapes of Fattoria Coroncino's Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore "Il Bacco" grow at an altitude between 250 and 400 metres above sea level; the soil is mainly composed of marly stone and limestone, ideal characteristics for the production of wines with character and structure. The climate is Mediterranean: hot but breezy summers and mild winters with almost no frost and sporadic rainfall, for a final product that is well ripe at harvest time. The grapes are harvested manually when the grapes are ripe, with selection of the best bunches; in the cellar, soft crushing takes place so as not to lose the intrinsic aromas. Fermentation is spontaneous thanks to the action of indigenous yeasts. It matures 12 months on the lees in steel.
To the eye, Fattoria Coroncino's Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore "Il Bacco" appears bright straw yellow with greenish reflections. The bouquet of aromas is reminiscent of pineapple, citrus fruits and unripe yellow-fleshed fruit such as green apple and pear combined with an almondy finish; on the palate it is fresh, savoury and pungent with mineral hints on the finish for a pleasant and balanced drink. It pairs perfectly with smoked salmon, grilled fish and lightly fried dishes; also interesting with shellfish and fresh cow's milk cheeses. Ideal for dinners with friends by the sea or for romantic evenings, sipping a wine with authentic and genuine flavours.
