"Ronco delle Cime" is a Friulano fresh, soft and fragrant, with remarkable minerality. The aromas are delicately smoky, with notes of almond and white peach. The sip reveals elegance and excellent balance
Venica & Venica's Friulano "Ronco delle Cime" is a perfect expression of one of the territory's most popular whites. It is made from the Sauvignonasse grape variety, introduced to the lands of the Triveneto region in the late 19th century. Abandoned in the original area of Bordeaux, it has found along the border with Slovenia its chosen land, so much so that it has become one of its symbols, first under the name of Tocai and since 2008 under that of Friulano. The Ronco delle Cime label was created in 1999 to highlight a particularly suited vineyard, which still gives a wine of remarkable aromatic intensity and expressive balance. Particularly ductile at the table, it goes well with vegetable-based first courses, mushroom risotto, seafood dishes and fresh cheeses. The classic pairing is with San Daniele ham.
"Ronco delle Cime" is a Friulano from the work of one of the most representative companies in the Collio area. Venica & Venica has always been committed to the enhancement of the territory, through the grape varieties historically present in this corner of Friuli on the border with Slovenia. Ronco delle Cime represents one of the estate's most important crus. The vines were planted in 1974 in the highest part of the estate at about 200 meters above sea level, with a northwest orientation facing the peaks of Monte Nero and Canin. Cold air currents coming down from the mountains keep the grapes always dry and ensure that there are significant temperature swings between sunny days and nighttime temperatures. The soils are composed of the classic ponca of the Dolegna del Collio area, characterized by marine sedimentations of limestone marl and sandstone rich in minerals. The grapes are harvested by hand followed by cold maceration for about 24 hours in oxygen protection and soft pressing. The must ferments partly in steel tanks and partly in large barrels. Before bottling, the wine is aged in steel and in wood, with a rest on the lees for about 6 months.
The white Friulano "Ronco delle Cime," from the Friulian winery Venica & Venica, is a label with a classic character, well representing the tradition of this much-loved wine in the region and a true ambassador of the Collio area. It has a beautiful light yellow color with clear golden reflections. The olfactory picture is intense and rich with scents of wild flowers, aromas of peach, pear, soft nuances of pineapple and tropical fruit. The palate highlights ripe fruit, with a broad and harmonious sip that flows into a savory finish with good flavor persistence.
