The Timorasso "Francesca" from the Vigne Marina Coppi winery is a fresh and fragrant version of this great Piedmontese wine, made from a white grape that is especially widespread in the Tortonese Hills and Alessandria area. Timorasso is a grape variety that has been recovered and rediscovered only in recent decades, thanks to the process of revaluation of native varieties and the commitment of some small producers. It is a wine with a strong personality, expressing floral, fruity aromas, accompanied by characteristic mineral nuances, which take over with bottle aging. Pleasant to drink young, it also possesses good longevity.
Timorasso wine "Francesca" is a white wine that originates in the countryside of Castellania, in the province of Alessandria. It is in this area of Piedmont that the Vigne Marina Coppi winery is located. It is a young estate of just over 5 hectares, founded in 2003 with the intention of enhancing the classic grapes of the area: Barbera, Favorita, Nebbiolo, Croatina and especially Timorasso. The vineyards are cultivated at an altitude of about 400 meters, on steeply sloping hillsides, sunny and always ventilated. No herbicides or chemical fertilizers are used between the rows, and vineyard management is carried out in harmony with the surrounding natural environment, trying to keep treatments to a minimum. Grapes of excellent quality are the basis of a small production still made with extreme craftsmanship. The Vigne Marina Coppi labels have won fans for their character of forthright authenticity.
Vigne Marina Coppi's "Francesca" Timorasso is the most typical expression of the combination of vine and territory. It comes from young vines, grown in beautiful, sunny hillside exposures that reach 400 meters above sea level. At the end of the harvest, the grapes are softly pressed and fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature with classic white vinification. The wine matures for 8 months in steel and completes aging with another 5 months in the bottle. Timorasso has an intense yellow color with bright golden hues. The bouquet recalls scents of wild flowers, aromas of ripe yellow fruit and hints of minerals. The palate is taut and vertical, rich and expressive, with remarkable freshness.
