The Terre Alte is one of White wines Livio Felluga's most famous and important: a blend of Sauvignon, Pinot Bianco and Friulano born from separate vinifications and aging in steel and barrique. The elegant and complex bouquet gives notes of tropical fruit, Mediterranean scrub, white flowers and herbs. The palate is rich, soft, generous and persistent
Livio Felluga's Terre Alte white is an exceptional wine, pluriously awarded and hailed by critics, both Italian and international. It is, in fact, one of the few white wines known worldwide and is now considered a flag not only of the winery but of the whole of Friuli. Its smoothness, intense flavour and complex, nuanced aromas captivate from the very first moment. A bottle that definitely deserves more than a taste.
Terre Alte is a Friulian wine that comes from a skilful blend where we find Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc and Friulano. Three grape varieties grow by sinking their roots into a marly territory rich in sandstone of Eocene origin. The grapes, after harvest, are destemmed and macerated for a short time. Then light pressing takes place, and Pinot Blanc and Sauvignon ferment at controlled temperatures in steel tanks, while Friulano ferments alcoholically in small French oak barrels. This difference continues even after vinification, during the ageing phase, which continues, both in wood and in steel, for 10 months.
Terre Alte Livio Felluga wine manifests itself on visual examination with a straw-yellow colour, decidedly intense. Rich and layered is the array of aromas that develop on the nose, where Mediterranean scrub, fruit, flowers and spices dance in a perfectly orchestrated olfactory symphony. On the palate, it is extremely pleasant, with a bite marked by a savoury texture that encourages drinking; it ends with a lingering finish. A label where quality touches truly important heights, confirming Livio Felluga as one of the reference producers not only in Friuli Venezia Giulia but in all of Italy.
