That of Zidarich is a great example of Terrano, a red wine varieties typical Karst produced in a very limited area, where the soil consists primarily of clay, the microclimate and the altitude provide unique features.
A difficult grape, tannins intense and challenging at times very "rustic", which until recently could not express great potential. Benjamin, however, with his philosophy has turned over every opinion: a strong bond with the land and a great passion for viticulture have laid the foundation to create a great Terrano, a wine with a unique character that, thanks to Zidarich can gratify even the most refined palates. We are in Prepotto, near the Gulf of Trieste, in the heart of the karst area, where the territory offers unique and fascinating, thanks to a mild microclimate, with the inevitable presence of the Bora, the typical local wind very strong and very cold that gives temperature extremes.
The Terrano by Zidarich born of vineyards located between 260 and 280 meters above sea level, on a calcareous soil, rich in clay, with a strictly manual harvest in the first half of October. Fermentation and maceration are carried out in open vats, without any temperature control and with the exclusive use of indigenous yeasts; then fermented in large oak barrels and aged for 24 months in barrels, medium and large oak casks. The result is a red karst very typical that the aroma is fruity with alternating and bring out blueberry, blackberry and wild strawberry. That of Zidarich is the rediscovery of the Terrano, a wine that never loses its expressive capacity...
