Le Sughere di Frassinello by Castellare is the second label of the project Rocca di Frassinello; a red wine from the French-Italian taste that combines the ruggedness and the fullness of Sangiovese, with the softness and the elegance of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. By the difficulties of expansion emerged in the 90s, the cellar Castellare di Castellina drew definitely benefit; benefit thanks to the vision of creating the first joint venture with Domanin Baron Lafite-Rothschild. A partnership that has been able to combine and mix the best experience of Castellare in the cultivation and vinification of Sangiovese with that of Lafite regarding with the Cabernet and Merlot. And from this union was born one of the best reality in the territory of Chianti. Thus was born the project of Le Sughere di Frassinello by Castellare. We are in Gavorrano, in the province of Grosseto, on vineyards located at 90 meters above sea level; young vineyards, with about 10 years of age, but they can count on a fantastic subsoil, rich in texture. And here that takes shape Le Sughere di Frassinello by Castellare; a blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot that, after malolactic fermentation, is left to rest for 12 months in French oak barrels of 225 liters, before stopping for 9 months in bottle to rebalance and stabilize. We are facing with a great Tuscan red wine, with a beautiful quality/price. A Tuscan red wine that combines the ruggedness of Sangiovese with the softness and elegance of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Intense, round, round, supple tannins.
