Sagrantino di Montefalco is a strong red, with a lively tannic texture and a deep, complex soul, with aromas to the nose that transport us with grace and elegance inside the rows of Arquata and Colcimino, terroir in which the vineyards of the Adanti winery have their roots. A historical production reality of the Montefalco area, always careful to give life to quality products respecting the territory and its ancient traditions.
The red wine Sagrantino di Montefalco is produced by the winery Adanti starting from the grape symbol of Umbrian viticulture, Sagrantino. The grapes grow within two different plots of land, distinguished by a clay, sandy and calcareous subsoil, located at a height comprised between 250 and 360 meters above sea level. Once harvested, the berries are destemmed and fermented in steel tanks for 21-24 days. The wine is then aged for 30 months in large barrels and then, after bottling, for another 12 months in glass.
This Sagrantino di Montefalco made by Adanti winery is presented to the eye with a bright color and that recalls the tonality of garnet. The nose is stratified and rich, with austere notes, where spices and fruity aromas mix with deep notes of tar and graphite. The mouthfeel has an excellent body, vigorous and muscular, with an evident tannic grip; the mouthfeel is balanced, without any smudging. A great Umbrian red, which finds its gastronomic consecration with dishes based on game or red meat, as well as with blue and aged cheeses.
