Rosso Piceno Superiore "Terre di Giobbe" from the Fiorano winery is a full-bodied, intense and enveloping red wine produced in Contrada Fiorano in Cossignano, in the province of Ascoli Piceno, Marche region. This label is made from a blend of predominantly Montepulciano and Sangiovese grapes from the Giobbe and Fraticelli vineyards, located at about 245 meters above sea level and facing southwest on soils characterized by sandy-clay soils. The vines, which have an average age of about 20 years, are trained using the spurred cordon method, keeping the rows grassed and using green manure. The winery is a family-run business, owning just over 8 hectares of vineyards that have been cultivated following the dictates of organic farming for more than 15 years now.
Piceno Rosso Superiore "Terre di Giobbe" is made from carefully selected grapes that are harvested by hand in small boxes for immediate processing. The grapes are destemmed and softly crushed and then undergo alcoholic fermentation, which takes place spontaneously and using only indigenous yeasts, in stainless steel tanks at a temperature that never exceeds 28/30 °C, with maceration on the skins for at least 18/20 days. After racking and subsequent press pressing, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and is aged on its fine lees for 7 months in stainless steel containers and an additional 12 months in French oak barrels. After that, it is bottled and remains to mature for an additional 12 months in a bottle before being marketed.
Fiorano's "Terre di Giobbe" Rosso Piceno Superiore shows an intense ruby red colour with some purplish highlights. Complex aromas of ripe fruit and berries appear on the nose, including cherry, blackberry and plum, floral notes of violet and red flowers, spicy hints of pepper and roasted spices, finishing with a hint of Mediterranean scrub, humus and underbrush. In the mouth, it is soft, dense, round and fruity, marked by good freshness, played on savoury notes, and well-balanced tannins. This from the Fiorano winery is an unfiltered, structured and balanced red, made as it once was with artisanal methods.
