“La Bambina” is a Sicilian rosé wine from Nero d’Avola grapes from Menfi terroir, near to the sea, produced with vinification and short aging in steel tanks. It has a Mediterranean aromatic profile, with exotic hints, animated by wild berries. On the palate it is light, fresh, savory and fruity
The Sicilian Rosé wine 'La Bambina' is a tribute that Marilena, the beating soul of Cantine Barbera, dedicates to all women who want to get involved and fight for what they believe in. Just as she did, she determined to experiment with something new with Nero d'Avola grapes that could impeccably represent the terroir of Menfi. This is how "La Bambina" was born, a fragrant and luminous label that fascinates starting with its coppery colour and continues involving nose and palate in well-delineated aromas and flavours. A bottle that ends with an iodised finish, which makes one breathe in the breeze of the Sicilian coast.
"La Bambina" is a Rosato made from pure Nero d'Avola grapes, one of the most representative varieties of the entire Sicilian ampelographic panorama. Cantine Barbera cultivates it in soils rich in the skeleton and limestone near the sea, in vineyards where processing is carried out according to organic farming principles. After soft pressing, a short static decantation is carried out and the must then ferments spontaneously in steel, thanks to the presence of indigenous yeasts. During ageing, the wine remains for 5 months on the fine lees in steel.
This Rosé wine, "La Bambina," announces itself in the glass with a coppery pink colour, very light and not very concentrated. The olfactory profile develops with a texture of delicate and subtle notes, where the Mediterranean landscape of Sicily resounds, accompanied by fruitier touches in which wild strawberries and red fruits are more intensely perceived. On the palate, it is light-bodied, drinkable and lively, with a sip marked by a savoury, almost tropical flavour. This is a label that Cantine Barbera began producing for fun and out of a desire to put itself to the test and which, after a few vintages, is confirmed as one of the most interesting in the entire range.
