Tibaldi's Roero 'Roccapalea' is a full-bodied red wine made from Nebbiolo in the hamlet of Pocapaglia, Piedmont. The nose impresses with a complex bouquet with notes of underbrush, cherry and slight spicy nuances, while the sip is juicy, intense and very persistent on the palate. A wine to pair with stews, casseroles or roasts
Roero 'Roccapalea' from the Tibaldi winery is a pure Nebbiolo of great elegance and harmony, which expresses very well the characteristics of the Roero territory. The area is located on the left bank of the Tanaro river, just opposite the hilly area of the Langhe. The great red Piedmontese grape variety is vinified with great delicacy and care, so as to preserve the refined floral and fruity aromatic bouquet, typical of the variety. It is a perfect label for those who wish to taste a great Nebbiolo, but less structured, tannic and complex than the wines produced in the areas of the famous Barolo and Barbaresco appellations.
"Roccapalea' is a Roero Rosso made by the Tibaldi winery, a family-run business that produces wines in the hilly area of Pocapaglia. The area is characterised by a mild, breezy climate and the presence of soils composed mainly of sand and sandstone, which are light and well draining. Monica and Daniela, with the collaboration of their father Stefano, manage the estate with great care and passion, reserving the utmost attention to work in the vineyard, where all operations, including the harvest, are carried out manually. The best grapes selected by hand are destemmed and fermented at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks with maceration on the skins for about ten days. The wine then matures in oak barrels with light toasting, so as to leave the varietal aromas of Nebbiolo in the foreground.
The Rosso Roero 'Roccapalea' of the Tibaldi winery is a wine made with an artisanal spirit. The particular characteristics of the terroir give the wine a refined profile, with a medium-intensity structure and a pleasantly flowing sip. To the eye, it has a light and luminous ruby colour with light garnet-coloured reflections. The nose captivates with delicate scents of iris, violets and dried rose petals, hints of aromatic herbs and fragrant aromas of small red berries, currants, strawberries, raspberries and morello cherries. Medium-bodied, it has a fine tannic texture and a fruity, harmonious lengthening towards a fresh, savoury finish.
