POUILLY FUMÉ CHATEAU DE TRACY 2022 DESCRIPTION

Chateau De Tracy's Pouilly Fumé is a wine produced in the Loire Valley region from Sauvignon Blanc, the area's princely grape variety. In this area, Sauvignon expresses itself with a particular elegance and finesse, with a very subtle and delicate aromatic component, always accompanied by the classic mineral and savoury notes of limestone and silica soils. As a result, the wines of Poully Fumé have always been unmatched models for anyone who decides to try growing and making wine from Sauvignon Blanc and are unanimously considered to be among the world's most classy and fascinating whites.

Pouilly Fumé wine comes from a family domain located near the village of Tracy-sur-Loire. The estate covers an area of about thirty hectares, divided into several parcels characterized by different microclimates and soils. The work in the vineyard is set up precisely to allow the only vine grown, Sauvignon Blanc, to express itself differently concerning the composition of the soils and thus produce labels that perfectly represent the place of origin. The grapes come from southwest-facing vineyards that insist on two different types of soils: silex and kimméridgien limestone. The former gives the wine good structure and firm aromas, while the latter provides elegance and aromatic richness. By blending grapes with different characteristics, it is possible to obtain a wine with greater complexity and depth of flavour.

Chateau De Tracy's Sauvignon Blanc Pouilly Fumé comes from grapes harvested at full ripeness and with a vineyard selection of only the best bunches. Each parcel is vinified separately so that a balanced and harmonious cuvée can then be created. Before bottling, the wines rest on their lees in steel tanks with periodic batonnage. In the glass, it is straw yellow in colour with light greenish highlights. The bouquet opens on elegant aromas of cassis, boxwood, medicinal herbs, balsamic notes, citrus aromas and hints of tropical fruit. The sip is sleek and taut, with an expressive fruit-driven centre of the mouth, heralding a long finish of crisp citrus and mineral freshness.
