Jermann's Pinot Gris is a faithful portrait of the land of Collio Friulano. Extraordinarily suited to the production of whites, this area is embellished by a very special minerality. In the soils, in fact, there is an abundance of Ponca, a particular stratification of marl and sandstone with a high tendency to disintegrate. This makes it possible to obtain soils endowed with granularity and, above all, capable of affixing an indissoluble signature to the grapes that originate from it. Similarly, Jermann winery's footprint is also easily recognized, both in the finesse and expressiveness of its wines. And it is especially the latter that emerges strongly in the Jermann labels, in which the grape is allowed to manifest itself in all its naturalness and in all its characteristics.
Jermann Pinot Gris is made from the grape variety of the same name. They come from vineyards with southwestern and northeastern exposure and Ponca-rich soils. After harvesting, which is done strictly by hand, the grapes are transported to the winery and there they are pressed and turned into must. Alcoholic fermentation takes place inside stainless steel containers, as does aging. This phase lasts about 6 months and is aimed at preserving all the expressive purity of the fruit, without affecting or covering it with the use of wood.
Jermann's white Pinot Gris presents an intense straw yellow color, enhanced by antique pink reflections. Its bouquet plays intensely on fruity, citrusy tones enlivened by a distinctive mineral note. Confirmed on the palate as well, this very particular salinity betrays its territory of origin, while also recounting its freshness and complexity. The body is full and sculpted by great finesse; a composed but long persistence closes the sip and unquestionably determines the charm of this Pinot Grigio white.
