PINOT GRIGIO 'GRIS' LIS NERIS 2021 DESCRIPTION

Pinot Grigio Gris belongs to the line of selections by Lis Neris, produced with grapes from the Pecorari family's historical crus, vinified separately according to the variety and the vineyard of origin. These beautiful fields belonging to Lis Neris were put together by four generations of vignerons, able over time to create one of the most representative company of Friuli, in the picturesque countryside of Gorizia, caressed by the river Isonzo. Lis Neris is located in the heart of the most renowned wine-growing region of Friuli, in the municipality of San Lorenzo, close to the Slovenian border. Over 60 hectares of vineyards are planted in the most beautiful part of a small plateau of deep gravel, dragged downstream by the waters of melting glaciers in the eastern Alps. The proximity to the sea favors a Mediterranean climate, characterized by diurnal temperature variations that favor a slow aging, resulting in more solid and better balanced grapes, with richer aromas and flavors. Right in San Lorenzo there's a large concentration of white varieties, including the outstanding Pinot Grigio: this area not far from the sea, fresh and windy, houses the Gris vineyard, with vines planted 30 years ago, whose roots lie in a deep limestone soil, capable of providing great minerality to the wines produced here. The Pinot Gris Gris (namesake of the vineyard) ferments spontaneously in French oak barrels, obtaining an outstanding softness that accompanies the delicate floral notes and a fragrant acidity.
