'O Esteiro' Bodegas Albamar 2021

"O Esteiro" by Bodegas Albamar is a red wine with an agile, graceful and drinkable profile, a sunny expression of the Galician land from which it comes. Flames of fresh flowers and black pepper, of graphite and small red fruits gush from the glass, leading to a light and subtle taste with crunchy tannins, strength and fresh, dangerously easy to drink.

'O ESTEIRO' BODEGAS ALBAMAR 2021 DESCRIPTION

The "O Esteiro" of the winery Bodegas Albamar is an agile red wine, fresh and of great character created in the municipality of Cambados, in the region of Galicia, in Spain. This label is obtained from a blend of Caiño, Espadeiro and Mencía grapes from vineyards located in the Valle de Salnés, near the mouth of the river Umìa and a few meters from the Ocean, which, in this territory actively influences the climate with its breezes giving the wine a particular taste with a marine appeal. The soils, characterized by granitic sand soils, have meant that phylloxera here does not cause damage by destroying the vineyards that, for this reason, have remained still free. The winery is a family-run business run since 2006 by Xurxo Alba Padìn, one of the sons of the owner who took the reins of the winery in accordance with the dictates of organic farming and minimal intervention in the vineyard.

Albamar "O Esteiro" is produced with grapes harvested manually and carefully selected in the vineyard. The grapes are then taken to the cellar to be partially destemmed and pressed gently, after which the must carries out the alcoholic fermentation spontaneously, using only indigenous yeasts, in open tubs with daily fulling and maceration that lasts for about 3 weeks. The wine is then racked and aged in French oak barrels for at least 8 months, before being bottled without filtration or clarification.

"O Esteiro" by Bodegas Albamar shows an intense and brilliant ruby red color. The nose reveals aromas of small red fruits, including currant, wild strawberry and cherry, fresh floral notes of white flowers, graphite, spicy hints of black pepper, to finish with a balsamic hint reminiscent of eucalyptus and laurel. In the mouth it is light, thin and crunchy, with fine tannins and a pleasant and intriguing texture. This label of Bodegas Albamar is a red wine that reflects all the characteristics of the terroir and variety: sharp, Atlantic and very mineral.
