"Noi' di San Patrignano is a fruity and rich red wine that well expresses the generous and sunny character of the Romagna lands. It is the fruit of a social project carried out by the young people hosted by the San Patrignano rehabilitation community, who through work in the vineyard and in the cellar, resume the path of life and train professionally to prepare for their future. It is a blend made from the area's main grape variety, Sangiovese di Romagna, and Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, two international varieties that have adapted very well to the hills of Romagna. The well-calibrated ageing in wood preserves the typical characteristics of the grapes, enriched by elegant notes of tertiary evolution.
The red wine "Noi" originates in the hills of Rimini, where San Patrignano manages an estate of over 100 hectares. The vineyards are located at an altitude of about 200 metres above sea level, in the hilly strip between the coast and the foothills of Mount Titano. The climate is mild and very sunny, always ventilated, thanks to the presence of sea breezes. The soils are predominantly clayey with a good presence of limestone, particularly suited to the cultivation of red varieties. The Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes are harvested in the period from mid-September to the end of October. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks, with a maceration period on the skins of several weeks. The wine ages for one year in second-passage oak barriques and is refined in the bottle for a further 12 months.
The San Patrignano 'Noi' wine, right from its name, emphasises its choral nature, both in terms of its production by a community of young people, and the blend of three different grape varieties that complement each other harmoniously. In the glass, it is a beautiful dark ruby red with light garnet reflections. The olfactory profile is rich and intense, with fruity aromas of ripe cherries, wild blackberries, blackcurrants, hints of underbrush, leather, tobacco and liquorice. The palate reveals a good structure, with elegant, ripe tannins, juicy fruit and a pleasantly fresh, lively finish.
