The Nero d'Avola "Lamùri" is a well-balanced and structured Sicilian red wine, aged in barrique for 12 months. Fragrant hints of red fruits, blackberries, cherries and spices animate and ignite a rich and velvety sip, with soft, warm and ripe tannins
Lamuri wine is one of the wines from the Tasca D'Almerita winery line, a true manifesto of love and passion for Nero D'avola and the Sicilian territory. A wine for every day, capable of standing out for its particularly advantageous quality price. A long history of enhancing the territory and its principal grape varieties is the one that has linked Tasca d'Almerita to Sicily since the 19th century. A vast estate of about 600 hectares, spread among five sub-zones, having as its basic credo the enhancement of biodiversity and environmental sustainability. A winery that has always been in the vanguard since the acquisition of the first estates in 1830, Tasca d'Almerita has been able to give life to a style that is a wise combination of tradition and modernity.
Lamuri red comes from a selection of Nero D'Avola grown in high hills, a characteristic that gives it greater freshness and a sharp definition of primary aromas. The vineyards are located between 450 and 750 meters above sea level and are cultivated with low yields. Fermentation takes place in steel containers, and after malolactic fermentation takes place, the liquid refines in French oak barriques for 20% new while 80% second and third passage, for the duration of 12 months. The passage in wood dampens the grittier nature of Nero D'Avola from the hills, making it softer and more elegant.
Lamuri shows a vibrant ruby red colour as soon as it is poured. Already from the first olfaction, it makes clear its aromatic sharpness made of mulberry, berries and spicy traces of cloves. The sip is perfectly balanced between freshness and envelopment and continually entices one to taste again. A liquid of extreme pliability, it goes well with regional preparations such as couscous and barbecued meats, not forgetting well-seasoned pasta dishes. A little piece of Sicily in liquid form!
