Enzo Boglietti's Langhe Nebbiolo is an inviting expression of this famous variety from which some of the world's most important red wines, such as Barolo and Barbaresco, are made. However, when cultivated and processed seeking greater immediacy and accessibility, Nebbiolo can yield surprising results through its elegant aromas and vibrant taste.
Enzo Boglietti Langhe Nebbiolo is derived exclusively from grapes of the vine of the same name grown organically certified within the commune of La Morra, on soils formed by marl and limestone with occasional red earth and stone. Harvesting is done by hand and the grapes are then selected, destemmed and finally crushed. The must ferments at a controlled temperature in contact with the skins for about 10 days, during which periodic pumping over and punching down is carried out. Once the fermentation process is finished, the wine is racked into used wooden barrels for maturation for 6 months, and after further brief bottle aging, it is ready for release.
The color of Nebbiolo Langhe Enzo Boglietti is bright ruby red and transparent. The nose offers exquisite aromas of red fruits such as raspberry and cherry, rose petals, underbrush and cut hay, with spicy nuances in the background. In the mouth it is dry and flavorful, fresh and crisp, with fine but well-present tannins accompanying the lingering fruity finish. As much as this is a Nebbiolo with good longevity, this label is incredibly tasty even in its youth, best when paired with traditional Langhe meat dishes such as tajarin al ragù. Also excellent paired with boards of cured meats and aged cheeses, tartare of fassona or rabbit in umid
