The Muller Thurgau by the Abbazia di Novacella winery is one of the most famous white wines of Alto Adige, known for its simplicity and freshness. The soils are located in the Bressanone basin and are characterised by permeable moraine deposits and minerals that favour the sapidity and minerality of this label. The wine has greenish reflections in the glass and the bouquet is characterised by the freshness of white flowers such as jasmine. The taste is delicate, slightly aromatic with a mineral trail that balances the sip

Muller-Thurgau is one of Abbazia di Novacella's signature labels. It is part of the Classic Wines collection, characterised by a fresh and immediate profile, which aims to enhance and highlight the varietal character of the grapes. The Muller-Thurgau grape variety has adapted very well to the Alpine terrain of the Eisack Valley. Thanks to the altitude, stony soils and a very cool climate, it expresses itself with particular finesse and harmony, with a perfect balance of fruity richness, delicately aromatic personality and pleasant mineral freshness.
Muller-Thurgau white wine is the fruit of the most important winery in the Eisack Valley. The Abbey of Novacella manages 26 hectares of its own property and about 50 hectares of small wine-growing members, linked by a long-standing partnership. The grapes come from Muller Thurgau vineyards located in the Bressanone basin at an altitude of between 700 and 900 metres above sea level, with sunny exposures facing south, south-east and south-west. The vines take root in poor, draining soils of moraine matrix, rich in pebbles, gneiss and quartzite. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 17-19 °C. The wine matures for 6 months in stainless steel tanks before being bottled, in order to keep the lively fragrance of the rich varietal aromas intact.
Abbazia di Novacella's Muller-Thurgau is a typical white wine from Alto Adige, which best expresses the fresh profile of mountain wines. It is ideal to enjoy as an aperitif or to accompany hors d'oeuvres or seafood first courses. In the glass, it is straw yellow in colour with luminous greenish highlights. On the nose it offers delicate floral scents of orange blossom and jasmine, fragrant aromas of citrus fruit, lemon peel, aromas of pear, peach, white-fleshed fruit, hints of tropical fruit, subtle nuances of nutmeg and soft spices. On the palate it expresses rich, creamy fruit with a pleasant aromatic trail, accompanying towards a harmonious, fresh and savoury finish.
