The Lights Out Punch kit includes a selection of three ingredients needed to make the modern Lights Out Punch cocktail, made with Reposado tequila, vermouth and apple juice. This is a cocktail with a sweet and sour tendency, not overly heavy in taste and indeed quite casual in drinking. This cocktail was created by bartender Joaquin Simó, who is originally from Ecuador but grew up between Miami, Boston and New York, where he now works.
Within the Lights Out Punch selection is a bottle of Delmago Red Vermouth, a bottle of Cazadores brand Reposado Tequila, and a bottle of 'Alte Sorten' Apple Juice. These products are made by three different production companies that represent real excellence in their respective categories. In particular, Delmago's Vermouth Rosso is a flavored wine rich in spicy and sweetly bitter aromas that comes from the combination of Cortese wine from Monferrato and a selection of high-quality spices and herbs. In contrast, Cazadores' Tequila Reposado is produced in the highlands of the Mexican state of Jalisco through a year-long aging in new American oak barrels, resulting in a tequila with a sweet and exotic character. Finally, 'Alte Sorten' apple juice is made in South Tyrol by the Abbazia di Novacella winery from apples of very old varieties.
Combining the ingredients in the Lights Out Punch kit, which is ideal for making 8 cocktails, will result in a Lights Out Punch of the highest caliber, perfect for the holiday season thanks to its scents of apple and sweet spices. The base consisting of vermouth, tequila and apple juice should then be topped off with a few cinnamon sticks and a slice of apple as garnish.
