HAIKU CASTELLO DI AMA 2020 DESCRIPTION

The Haiku by Castello di Ama was born from the balanced assemblage of three grape varieties, Sangiovese, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. An assembly fruit by the love of Castello di Ama for this territory, Tuscany, which has always represented excellence in the Italian wine scene. We are in the Vineyard Montebuoni, on the slopes of the hill parallel to Bellavista vineyard, a vineyard that takes its name from the small village that overlooks; 14 acres facing South, South-West, at an altitude of between 420 and 508 meters, on soils rich in clay, limestone and gravel. Fermentation takes place according to tradition, with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks with a maceration for 25 days. The Haiku performs malolactic fermentation in barrels and remains here for 12 months; barrels, in part of the first step, which give structure, strength and softness Haiku, a blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Franc and Merlot is surprising for its harmony, for its complexity and for its persistence.
