The Gavi by Villa Sparina contains all the freshness, fragrance and richness of Cortese grapes. It is aged in steel and expresses a pleasant fruity profile of citrus, white-fleshed fruit and tropical notes on a floral and slightly mineral background. When tasted, it proves to be vibrant, straight and crisp, sprinkled with a mineral vein and a fresh citrus note
Gavi di Villa Sparina is a Piedmontese white wine that originates in the beautiful and sunny hilly area of Gavi. We are in lower Piedmont, towards the Ligurian border, where the gentle influence of the sea can already be felt. In these lands, which have always had a vocation for vine-growing, the Cortese vine expresses itself with particular finezza and elegance. It is a label that interprets the terroir by enhancing the savoury freshness and refined fragrance of a grape with great potential and ductility. The floral, citrus and fruity notes captivate from the very first sip. It is an ideal bottle to enjoy with a seafood appetiser or with delicately flavoured fish dishes.
Villa Sparina's white Gavi is one of the territory's most prestigious labels. In a region of great reds, it is not easy for a white grape to carve out an important place for itself on the wine scene. It is only by virtue of its undoubted qualities that the Cortese grape variety has succeeded in attracting the attention of wine lovers as one of the most interesting white wines in northern Italy. The vineyards at Villa Sparina are 30 years old and lie at an altitude of around 250-300 metres above sea level, on soils consisting of clayey marl. The grapes are softly pressed and the must ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 18 °C for about three weeks. Before bottling, the wine rests for several months in stainless steel tanks.
Gavi Villa Sparina is a wine with a typically territorial profile, son of an area of Piedmont with an already almost Mediterranean climate, mild and breezy. It is the expression of a noble grape, capable of yielding very interesting bottles that are particularly suitable for pairing with the seafood cuisine of the nearby Ligurian Riviera. The colour is straw yellow with faint golden reflections. The olfactory profile is striking for the crisp elegance of the aromas, which compose a picture that blends floral notes, fragrant hints of citrus peel and white-fleshed fruit. Fresh and savoury, it stretches out harmoniously on the palate and closes with great balance, on pleasantly refreshing sensations. Gavi in its most classic version.
