Franciacorta Rosé Pas Dosé Grande Cuvée 'Alma' from the Bellavista winery is a wine that originates from the Franciacorta area in the province of Brescia and is a tribute to this land. This wine is considered the completion of the Grande Cuvée collection, the highest expression of Franciacorta, an area that finds in this wine its highest expression: "Alma", in fact, means "she who nourishes" as a symbol of the power of this land.
The Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes in Bellavista's Franciacorta "Alma" Rosé Pas Dosé Grande Cuvée are harvested from vines over 25 years old. Harvesting is done strictly by hand so as not to spoil the grapes; after vinification, the must rests in steel vats and then in pièces (Burgundy barriques); this is followed by re-fermentation in the bottle and refinement on the lees according to the dictates of the Metodo Classico. The climate in this area is Mediterranean: thanks to the influence of Lake Iseo, frosts are rare, as the climate is mitigated by it, as is the presence to the north of Valcamonica, which allows good ventilation, avoiding stagnation of humidity. The soil is of morainic derivation, as it is partly made up of deposits from the ancient ice of the River Oglio, with the presence of sand, silt, pebbles and gravel, due to its proximity to the river.
Bellavista's 'Alma' Franciacorta Rosé Pas Dosé Grande Cuvée presents a delicate antique pink colour with a fine and persistent perlage. The nose reveals hints of Mediterranean floral notes as well as some fruity ones of citrus, peach and pomegranate, with a sweet finish reminiscent of white chocolate; the palate is hit by delicate freshness and savouriness that provide a lingering, pleasant finish. It is suitable for accompanying fish starters, even raw, and for sushi; also remarkable with first courses with fish sauce.
An excellent product to be consumed on special and formal occasions, on the family party table to enjoy a product that lives up to expectations.
