The Favorita by Fratelli Alessandria is a white wine characterized by a particular mineral vein. The nose is floral, with hints of citrus fruits and white fruit. On the palate it is intensely fresh, savory, mineral and persistent
Favorita is a type that pays homage to the native Piedmontese varietal of the same name, which has always been successfully cultivated in different areas of the region. Fratelli Alessandria, one of the most historic producers in the Langhe, interprets this varietal with elegance and directness, leveraging a fresh sip, to say the least, making it an extraordinary drink, creating a real attraction to a bottle in which savoriness also plays an important role. So, if you want to make aperitif time special, you have found the bottle for you.
This Favorita comes from plants aged around 35 years, located in soils characterized by a calcareous subsoil, tending to loamy. We are located at an altitude above sea level, between 250 and 350 meters, in the surroundings of the municipality of Verduno. Manual harvesting takes place during the second half of September, and the must, obtained by pressing the grapes, ferments spontaneously thanks to the presence of indigenous yeasts in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 18-20 degrees for a total of 20-25 days. Subsequent ageing continues for a few months in steel containers until the wine is ready to be bottled.
The Favorita signed Fratelli Alessandria develops in the glass with a straw yellow colour, connoted by reflections that tend more towards greenish in the rim. The nose has subtle and light sensations, revealing a soul of floral and fruity imprint, from which a more mineral touch also emerges at the end of the olfactory analysis. In the mouth, it has a light body, decidedly fresh, with a savoury flavour that continues even in the final aftertaste once the sip is finished. A delicate and pleasant label, perfect for accompanying more informal occasions on the table.
