DURELLO SPUMANTE METODO CLASSICO 'EPOCHÈ' MUNI DANIELE PICCININ 2021 DESCRIPTION

Daniele Piccinin's Muni winery presents Spumante Metodo Classico Durella Epochè, an authentic and vibrant expression of the Lessini Mountains. In the Venetian Prealps, since 2006 Daniele has been producing excellent artisanal interpretations, mainly of Durella, with an absolutely genuine and non-invasive approach to the land, the plant and the wine. The non-excessive structure and remarkable acidity make the Durella grape ideal for sparkling wine making, the etymology of whose name can be attributed to the berry's characteristic thick, leathery skin.

Daniele Piccinin's Epochè Spumante Metodo Classico Muni is made from pure Durella grapes from vineyards in the San Giovanni Ilarione area located between 300 and 500 meters above sea level, on clay and limestone soils. In the winery, the preparation of the base wine takes place first, which is spontaneously fermented in steel. Fresh must from the same grapes left to dry in order to concentrate their natural sugars is used as the draught syrup. Foaming is carried out in the bottle according to the Metodo Classico, with 24 months of aging on the lees. Following disgorgement, base wine is used as a dosage syrup, resulting in a pure and pristine bubble.

In the glass, Epochè Spumante Metodo Classico di Muni - Daniele Piccinin is straw yellow in color with fine and persistent effervescence. The nose chases notes of citrus, white-fleshed fruit, wild flowers, almond and hints of bread crust. It has a fresh, dynamic, vibrant and subtle profile, with a definite mineral imprint. A sincere bubble capable of conveying all the qualities, facets and attitudes of Durella.
