The "Bramito della Sala" is made by Castello della Sala, an Umbrian estate owned by the Antinori family, is a white wine made only from pure Chardonnay grapes, which are well suited to the characteristics of the soil surrounding the winery. In fact, thanks to the particular microclimate, which has cooler than average temperatures, ideal for obtaining wines of excellent calibre, this grape variety expresses itself with grace and personality, giving a label with an expressive sip. The Castello della Sala estate is located near Orvieto and was founded in 1940. Since '94 this satellite estate has been producing this little gem, which year after year has won over the critics with its refinement and intriguing aromas. Modern innovation, ancient tradition and unique terroir are the ingredients of this recipe that Antinori has been able to recreate within this territory, giving life to this fantastic and symbolic expression.
Chardonnay "Bramito della Sala" comes from the pure use of a great indigenous international white grape variety, the Chardonnay. The grapes of this variety, once harvested and brought to the winemaking cellars of Castello della Sala - Antinori, are destemmed and crushed, and undergo a brief maceration of 2-4 hours, after being cooled to 10°C in steel tanks. The musts are transferred partly in wood and partly in stainless steel vats, where alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature. Only the parcels vinified in barriques undergo malolactic fermentation and age for 5 months. Once assembled, the wine is bottled and is then ready to be marketed.
Castello della Sala's "Bramito della Sala" announces itself to the eye with a straw-yellow colour, with golden reflections on the rim. The nose expresses an enthralling and ample aromatic array, where ripe exotic fruit alternates with herbaceous sensations and touches of sweet spices, from which emerges a pleasant hint of vanilla. On the palate it is structured, soft, mineral, beautifully fresh and marked by a pleasantly savoury finish. With this label Antinori once again confirms the quality of its products and provides an excellent interpretation of the class and elegance that Chardonnay is capable of manifesting within the Umbrian terroir.
